Western wins at Sonoma State

The Western side of the Stanford Equestrian Team traveled to Sonoma Mountain Equestrian Center in Petaluma, CA on October 30 to continue its regular season. The team laid down consistent performances throughout the day to accumulate enough points to finish the day as a High Point Team. Team highlights included:

A third from senior Sabrina Wilson in Open Horsemanship,
Freshman Laura Benard picked up her first IHSA blue in Advanced,
Senior Andrea Cowan took third in Intermediate

The Stanford Western squad returns to competition in February, heading up to UC Davis.

Stanford Equestrian

The Stanford Equestrian Team is located at Stanford's historic Red Barn. Our hunt seat side boasts eight consecutive years of team Regional Championships, Zone Championships, and top ten finishes at the IHSA National Championships, and most recently finished as the IHSA Reserve National Championship team in 2013. In the past seven seasons, the western contingent has earned four team Regional Championships and most recently produced the 2008 and 2010 National Reserve Champion AQHA High Point Rider. In only its second full season in 2013, the dressage team won the regional championship title for the Intercollegiate Dressage Association's Region U and made its first-ever trip to represent Stanford at the IDA National Finals.
